Membership Categories

Family Membership
This membership gives your family access to the Berkeley Heights YMCA facility and programs. It also includes priority registration for adult specialty classes and all youth program classes. Membership consists of any two adults residing at the same address, and dependents age 22 and under.

Individual Adult Membership
This membership entitles you to full use of the Berkeley Heights facilities including a Health & Fitness Program-- with a state-of-the-art Fitness Center and a wide variety of fitness classes.

Program Membership
Young people ages 12 years and under can participate in aquatic classes (at the Summit Y) , preschool and sports classes, sports leagues, and teen programs with this membership plan.

All-In-One Membership
This membership provides membership privileges at the Springfield, Summit and Berkeley Heights facilities. Members are given 5 yearly guest passes. This is an ideal plan for individuals who want to use a YMCA close to home or work.

Managing Your Membership

Financial Assistance
The Y believes in providing membership and program services to all. Scholarships are available for those who qualify through a confidential application process. Forms are available at the Member Services desk.

Joining Fee
A new member joining fee is a one-time fee apyable in full upon joining or rejoining. Fees are used for capital improvements and equipment purchases. You may rejoin within 45 days of your expiration date without paying an additional fee. The joining fee does not apply to youth, clergy and teens.

Methods of Payment
You can pay your membership dues in one of two ways.

  1. Credit Card Payment Plan. An easy way to pay as you go! Your VISA, AMEX or Master Card is debited once per month. Membership is continuous until cancelled in writing.
  2. Full Payment. Dues may be paid in full upon joining and yearly thereafter. Payment is accepted via cash, check or credit card -- see the Member Services desk for details.

Registration
Membership is required to participate in any adult or child program, except certain "Specialty Classes" requiring fees on a per-class basis.

AWAY Program
The AWAY (Always Welcome at YMCA'S) sticker on your membership card entitles you to visit participating YMCA's in other cities when you are traveling.
