Facility Guidelines


Registration

  • Membership is required to participate in any adult or child program, except certain “Specialty Classes” requiring a non-membership fee.
  • Registration is available online or in-person only, on a first-come, first-serve basis on dates posted. Registration is based on availability of class space.
  • Due to limited space, we are unable to hold a spot in child care, preschool and youth classes until payment has been made.
  • Fee must be paid in full on or before the first class of the session. Fees are prorated only at 50% on or after the half-way point of the session with instructor’s permission.

Program Credit and Refund Policy

  • A $10 service charge applies to all refunds.
  • Program Cancellations by participant must be made in writing.
  • Credits are valid for 12 months from date of issue.
  • Credits may be used at any branch of the Summit Area YMCA.
  • Programs cancelled by the YMCA will be made available for full refund or credit.
  • Participant program cancellation any time up to five (5) days before the first class will result    

in a full refund minus the $10 service charge.

  • Participant program cancellation less than five (5) days before the first class will result in

50% refund minus the $10 service charge.

  • Participant program cancellation on or after the first day of class does not qualify for a credit

or refund unless the YMCA is provided with a doctor’s note, refund will be pro-rated for missed classes.

  • Cancellation policy is subject to change.
  • Classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.
  • Credit/Refund may take up to two (2) weeks to process

Make-Ups

  • If the YMCA cancels class due to weather, illness of instructor, or other reason, a makeup class will be scheduled, or a credit will be issued.
  • Attendance is the responsibility of the participant. We cannot provide makeup classes for absences due to a lack of member responsibility. Medical verification must be in writing.
Transfers
Transfers will be made without charge in cases of inappropriate class placement, or a cancellation of any class by the YMCA. Otherwise a $5 service charge will apply.

Special Amenities

A.W.A.Y. Program
Wherever you travel, there’s sure to be a YMCA nearby. Show your Y Membership Card with the “AWAY” sticker to the staff at the YMCA you visit. See Member Services for details.

Babysitting Service

Available to members while using the facility. Free for family members:

$2 per child/per hour for all other members.

  • Mornings - Monday to Friday, 8:45 am-11:30 am
  • Evenings- Monday to Thursday, 6:00 pm- 8:30 pm;
  • Saturday (seasonally) 8:00 am-10:30 am

Lockers
Lockers are available for rent to members. Arrangements may be made at the Member Services desk.

YMCA Gift Certificates
Certificates for programs, memberships and massage are available at the Member Services desk.
