There's a really cool program at the YMCA that you can sign up for now! It''s called Trailblazers. Trailblazers is a fun and exciting thing to do, and it's for 4th through 7th grade only. It's for you and your father, and the events are only on weekends. You can do canoeing, bowling, you can go to a place called Frost Valley. Also, you can see a Nets game and much more. I have done it and I am doing it again.
If you're wondering what Frost Valley is, it's a really fun place to go (especially in the winter) where you can go tubing, tobogganing, candle making, and if you come with Trailblazers you can do this thing where you do obstacles on ropes. It's really cool. You get to sleep in lodges, too!
At Frost Valley let me describe Quirk Lodge, the lodge we stayed in. It's really cool. When you step into the lodge there's a fireplace!. Behind thefireplace is a big room with chairs all around it. To your left and to your right, there are rooms to sleep in. Let me describe to you what they look like: there are four open areas with bunks. and what I mean by open is that the bunks are in the open space!. There is also a private room with one bunk, which I got to share with one of my friends. It has a window and a dresser kind of things. The open room has a window and the drawers are under the bed. We had smores that tasted really good. That's Quirk Lodge.
You also get to see the Net's game at an arena. They announce the row that the Traiblazers are sitting in. They sell jerseys, caps and other stuff. They sell hot dogs and cotton candy, and other refreshments and food.
Also, you can go rock climbing at the YMCA, which is extremely fun, too. There is a bigger one (which is real easy) also a medium and hard. I love the hard one because it's slanted outward.
So, if you wan to sign up for Trailblazers, hurry up! There might not be any spots left, but you can try!
